My mum and dad always let me open one present on Christmas eve, then the rest on Christmas morning (obvs the ones from santa haven't come untill christmas eve night!) I'd never open all of them on christmas eve!

6. Have You Ever Built a Ginger Bread House?
No, but I would love too, they just look so tricky to make!

7. What Do You Like To Do On Your Christmas Break?
Just be with with my family, baking christmas treats, listening to christmas music, decorating the tree/house, watch tons of christmas films eat loads of chocolate, go christmas shopping, hopefully its snowing so we can build snow men!

8. Any Christmas Wishes?
I'd like my daughter to have a lovely christmas, I would also like to see my mum and dad nearer christmas time, but it may be the new year!

9. Favorite Christmas Smell?
My favorite christmas smell has to be REAL CHRISTMAS TREES!

10. Favorite Christmas Meal Or Treat?
Lots of quality street, Roses, and of course the Christmas dinner!

Please Read, Changes on Paris Boutique

As you probably can tell, I haven't been updating this blog as much as I did 2 years ago.

I have a lot on at the moment, all good things, but very time consuming and stressful! I am also heading to London next week, so will be absent for around 2 weeks.

The point of this post is to let you all know about some changes I have planned for Paris Boutique.

The first is I will be having a brand new layout, new content, new look, fresh start.

I will be starting Outfit of the days, once a tripod is purchased.

There will be some new content that you haven't seen before here on Paris Boutique also, like a summery of my week, updated every week without fail either on a Sunday or Monday.

I have a few things written in my note book that I want to start doing, and I am very excited about it all!

I feel as though this site is always more so about beauty products, reviews etc and I want to go in the direction of lifestyle, more about myself. I hope you've all stuck around :-)

I'll be back soon... and Paris Boutique will be better then ever.. :)

I am so, so excited for breaking dawn. I am reading the books for the first time, I have just finished New moon, and now on to eclipse. I just love how detailed the books are and enjoying reading them muchly. I decided to watch Twilight, New moon, and Eclipse without any spoilers from reading the books. I was going to wait to watch breaking dawn part 1 & 2, before reading the books, but I cannot wait, I want to prepare myself before watching them in the cinema, because I will cry ;) Btw, team Jacob all the way. Are you excited too?

Lush and Primark

So for my birthday, I decided I wanted to go to Leeds and do a abit of shopping. :) I had my boyfriend with me, and he was ever so good, spending ages in shops without moaning! I hit H&M, Topshop, New look, Lush and Primark. I find it ever so hard to photograph clothes and make them look nice just laying on my bed. So I will show you what I bought in future outfit posts if you like. Let me know. I will buy a tripod just for the outfits too! Here are the non clothing pieces I bought on my birthday. :)

- the cutest earrings, Usually, I stay clear of gold jewellery, but these earrings are adorable and not too OTT.

I was very good in Lush, normally I spend a fortune!
-Pop in the bath bubble bar, this is the prettiest one I have bought!

I decided to buy two luxury bath melts since it was my birthday ;) I went for two I wouldn't normally go for.

I am very excited to try these! The Ceridwens Cauldron retails at £3.99, you can only use it the once. I read in the reviews that it would be a great birthday treat so I thought I would treat myself! :) I have more birthday money left over, of which I'm buying some keep sake jewellery, and other bits I have my eye on, I will share with you all of course! :)

Goodbye August! This month went by too quickly!
I haven't wrote a monthly favourites on my blog in a while..
So here's what I have been loving in the month of August....

1. If you have been reading my blog for a while you will know by now that I am a huge Lush fan. I have been using honey I washed the kids soap this month, this is my second piece I have purchased. I love the scent, which is caramel and honey.The smell lingers on your body after your shower and leaves skin super soft.

2.I purchased the cleanse and polish hot cloth cleanser in John Lewis, in London earlier this month,and I understand what all the hype is about. It is fantastic and I recommend to anyone who hasn't tried it yet it is well worth the money.

3.This mascara is brilliant, at first I was very skeptical about trying it, as I have heard many bad reviews saying it is not worth the money. Personally I love it, the vibration helps the lashes separate. The only regret I have is choosing waterproof, even though it stays on all day without smudging the problem is removing, it is pretty hard and it results in me loosing a couple of lashes whilst scrubbing.

4. I got this eyeliner in Fearne Cottons favourites box last Christmas. It is my favorite item I got from the box, the colour is ever so vibrant and brings out the blue in my eyes, I wear this on my lower lash line. A swatch is below.

5.My Barry M nail paint collection is increasing. I have ten now. Barry M is my favourite drugstore nail brand. This summer I have gone for the pastels collections. Mint green, Berry ice cream, strawberry ice cream and blue moon.

6. The body shop had a offer on in July and I took the opportunity to buy myself some new make up. (See what else I bought here)Which I rarely do. This blush is beautiful, I love coral shade blushers, and this gives a healthy shine to your cheeks.

7. This is the most natural tanned bronzer I have owned. It gives a natural glow, and makes you look like you've just come back form a holiday abroad. Beautiful.

8. I was after a light tinted moisturiser. The types I own are more for tanned skin, this colour fits my skin tone perfectly and has SPF 20 and vitamins A,C & E.

9. I have never worn a face primer before purchasing this ELF one, I didn't think I needed one, however we had a few hot days and I wanted to make sure my make up didn't melt or smudge in the heat (although I didn't wear alot of make up)
I love this primer it leaves skin so soft and my foundation did not budge! hurrah!

10.This is my second jergens moisturiser, I don't know if you can tell from the picture, but I have nearly finished this one. A review can be found here if your interested.

11. Since I have short top layers, My hair needs a bit of 'oomph' and this does the job perfectly. It is a powder, and reminds me of a salt pot, you just sprinkle over your hair and rub with your finger tips, your left with instant volume.

12. John Frieda is a favourite company of mine, I love there products. I am on a hair dye ban at the moment to help my hair grow. I haven't missed dying my hair, I am looking forward to seeing my natural colour, which is a mousey brown. At the moment I have Ombre hair. The tips are lighter as the hair dye still remains. I quite like it. Back to this product, it is a great shampoo, and gives my brown locks a lovely shine. The smell is lovely, and I am happy to use this with a moisturising conditioner!

Pixie boots

I am very excited to share with you a range of autumn/winter boots.
Why am I excited? Well I have had enough of 'Summer' as I wouldn't call this summer at all. Currently in Britain it is raining, cold..so cold that we have the heating on. It is AUGUST!

I don't know about you ladies but when I wear a white dress I always feel like a princess. I don't wear them often. This is the only white dress I have worn in a while. I always feel there needs to be a special occasion to wear a white dress, like the one I have on here. It's Lace, with a silk lining, very very pretty.

This week I......

This week I.....

... went to Starbucks, where I had my first strawberries and cream. I am officially addicted.

Went to York for the first time, and I am in love. What a beautiful place. I only took a few pictures.It was a lovely sunny day and I muchly enjoyed my little adventure.

I hit Lush! oops. I wanted to get a fresh face mask, as my skin is playing up, I was also given a sample of Fresh pharmacy. So far its really helped! I also got The comforter, and pop in the bath, I have repurchased these many times. Lurrrve them.

I bought a new nail paint. Barry M blue moon, I have wanted this colour for some time, whilst in Starbucks a girl had it on, and it looked beaut, so I went straight to boots to purchase.

I tried Half baked for the first time. All I can say is ......YUM

This week I am excited about TV, for once.
I don't normally watch TV, other then eastenders. But I am a huge lover of Big brother and Xfactor, and I am glad there back!
I am also addicted to this song.

Before I start, I'd like to apologise for the dreaded Myspace poses. I have yet to buy a tripod and this is the only way to show you what I am wearing.
A company called Zalando contacted me. Asking me to feature there site on my blog, in exchange I was given a voucher, which I could use on anything I wanted.
I picked this T-shirt. I was browsing the site for a while, and was very close to getting a pair of shoes, but I am a sucker when it comes to slogan t- shirts. The colourful writing also won me over.
I picked the size XS, as I like my t-shirts to be quite tight fitting. It has got that festival look to it, I was hoping to go to Leeds festival, which was also a reason for choosing it, however I think I'm going to London around the time of Leeds fest. Dammit!

I also love the meaning behind "The surgarman"

I had a little money let to spend after choosing the t-shirt, as I was browsing I noticed not only does zalando have fashion on there site, but also a beauty category.
I love Lip smacker lip balms, I have been after the strawberry flavour for a while (as I am strawberry mad) so I was thrilled to find that zalando sell them! :)

Zalando has free shipping. Which is always a bonus. The site has 600 brands and 40,000 products so your spoilt for choice. I decided to agree advertising there site, as a blog reader myself I love finding new fashion and beauty sites on other peoples blogs, So I hope I have helped a few of you! :)

Primark jewelry

I love primark jewelry, I always find gorgeous pieces and its primark, so of course its cheap!
I purchased these back in January/February of this year but forgot to share them with you. Everything is from primark, execept the skull ring which is from asos.

I wore these items in my photo shoots, but I doubt you can see them properly so here's a closer look :) I am going to primark soon so let me know if you would like a haul!

Rollasole Review

Most of us have had those nights, when were at a nightclub and your feet are killing from wearing the most fierce looking sexy shoes, that you knew would hurt your feet, but you just had to wear them.

You start to regret it, and you end up dancing the night away bare foot.
Not anymore.. there's a new shoe in town, and there called "Rollasole"
A man came up with this great invention after hearing his girlfriend forever complain about her feet hurting from a night out.
Whenyour feet just cant take it anymore try these...

Mine came in a nifty little box like this.

The whole amazing thing about these, is that you can roll them up to fit in your bag. How clever is that?

They come in this handy little pouch, that reads "Keep your feet on the ground and your eyes in the stars"

They are cute little ballerina pumps, that come in different colours.

There so comfortable too!
However there not suitable for long distance walks, the bottom of the shoes are not very hard and you may hurt yourself. So far I have used them as slippers around the house :)
You can find these in numerous clubs around the UK, and in Miss Selfridge costing £8.50 You can get them in Gold, Red, black and white & leopard print :)

I am absolutely in love with this bag! I love small sized bags. I love the swallow print. I love how cute it looks with every outfit. I even love the inside polka dot print!
Yumi very kindly sent me this. As soon as I unwrapped the pretty pink packaging I fell in love, it is my favorite bag! I took these pictures a while ago just after opening. I have had a chance to use this bag.I had a few people commenting on how lovely it was, asking where it is from, I have never had that with a bag before.

Lush Its raining men, Is back!

Which I am so excited about. Its raining men shower gel is one of my favorite products from Lush, with it being a valentines limited edition I was very sad when I ran out of my tiny bottle, but lush has confirmed it is back, to stay! Hurrah!
I had a little post lined up, letting you all know about a similar shower gel I had found... Which I came across in Poundland.

Original source, is all natural just like Lush products, and it smells divine! Containing shea butter and honey, It has the creamy honey smell like Its raining men. However the scent doesn't stay on your skin for as long as IRM does.

I am off to Lush soon to pick up a bottle of its raining men. Is anyone else happy it is back? Original source is very good for a cheaper option, so I hope you can all give it a try too!

Week in photos #1

Howdy everyone. I thought I would share my week with you all! It was very highly requested in my giveaway comments that you would like photos of my week. I have had a pretty hectic 5 days, which I am now suffering for. I am absolutely tired, and spending a lazy Sunday watching TV, munching, and well..just being lazy.
I went to London Mon - Fri, I moved up north 3 years ago, it's good to go home and visit everyone, and I miss London, I really do!
I have had a few trips to London this year and planning to go back again around my birthday (September)
Anyway i'll stop rambling, this is what I got up to this week.

Monday- Train journey
Goodbye Yorkshire, Hello 3 hour train journey, consisting of reading new moon, playing on my DSi, spotting animals out of the window with my daughter, and eating M&M's.

3 hour's later hello London kings cross.

Tuesday- Seaside and rides!
What a very hot day in London. There was actually no air! Blue skies though, so I did'nt complain. I decided when I woke up that I wanted to spend the day by the sea. So me, my mum, and my daughter got on the train from Liverpool street station, to Southend victoria station. Once arrived we walked through the shopping center, where I bought a lovely little present and birthday card for my nan, then headed towards the beach.
The place was packed.
The sea was in, so there was hardly any space on the sand, so I then decided to hit adventure island! A small theme park, It was my daughter Elise's first trip to a theme park/adventure park so I was excited for her
I bought her the wrist band so she can go on all the mini rides for as many times as she liked, and I hop on with her for free. WIN!
After a couple of hours at the adventure park we hit the shops again. My mum wanted to go to primark, so we headed there which to my surprise was extremely dead! Make's a difference to the Leeds and oxford street stores.
My mum bought a few bits for herself, and Elise some dresses. I bought a pair of black leggings, you can't have too many black leggings.

Wednesday- Birthday celebrations!
My lovely nan's 80th birthday!
We all had a family BBQ on my nan and grandads beautiful roof top, the third one this year may I add. Again, it was extremely hot and sunny! It was a great day seeing the family and just relaxing.Eating BBQ food, birthday cake and sipping champagne.We got a family photo that I would love to post here but no one has sent it to me yet! :(

Here's one of me from a previous BBQ on my nans rooftop from this year (June) I didn't realize my brother was taking this!

Thursday- Shopping!
My last day in London. The weather was miserable. Woke up to lots of rain, but I didn't let it keep me in, I wanted to make the most of my last day.
Me, my mum and daughter headed to the west end for a spot of shopping.
First stop was John Lewis, I have wanted the liz earl hot cloth cleanser forever, and now I finally have it! hurrah!

I also tried out some new perfumes, I'm loving Marc Jacobs OH LOLA!
My daughter Elise was having a tantrum in john Lewis, and the lady very kindly distracted her by giving her a marc jacobs display lolly, which did work and Elise behaved (for a while)
We then went to Hamleys, I was surprising Elise to a trip to build a bear factory.
It was a lovely experience and I secretly want a bear of my own. She chose a bunny and her name is Flopsy.
I forgot to mention that since getting on the bus, the rain had stopped so we had a dry shopping trip - hurrah!

I popped in a number of shops, One being topshop to swatch a few nail varnishes, like green room, I decided I wanted Barry M's mint. So I headed to boots to pick one up, then jumped on the bus home.

Friday- Goodbye kisses.
I had to get up at 8 and leave at half 9 to go to an appointment.
Then headed home to pack a few last things say my goodbyes & then getting a taxi to the kings cross for around 1:30pm. Where I found platform 9 and 3/4 :D

My train wasn't until 2:45 so I had a lot of waiting around to do...Kings cross is one busy place.

A forever and always skincare fave

I was very excited to receive a email from sudocrem, asking me to review there new skincare tubes.
I have always been a sudocrem fan, since a baby you could say :)
It is such a handy thing to have around the house, as it has antiseptic in, which is good for things like minor burns, and acne. I had an allergic reaction once, I had applied a moisturizer that wasn't agreeing with my skin, my face went burning red, and sudocrem came to the rescue. I smothered my face in it, and it was the only thing that settled the redness and cooled me down. It is such a soothing and gentle cream, and if its good for babies skin, it mustn't contain anything harsh.
I always have a tub anyway, as my toddler needs sudocrem for her nappy rash, however it is so un-hygienic dipping your finger in, picking up all those horrible germs and spreading them over your face!

The new tube size makes things ever so handy, you can just pop it into your bag!
The texture is still the same, a very thick cream, and it is directed in capital letters to apply thinly, I do not rub this into my face. I just dab the areas where I am prone to get spots.

Project: Wreck This Journal

I have something different for you all today!

I am starting a 52 week project; wreck this journal, and this is the introduction post.
Let me start but telling you where I got this idea from.
Or shall I Say whom, Her name is Leona, and she has been a good friend for a very long time, check out her blog and follow her very own wreck this journal project HERE!
She really does deserve all the credit. As I never even knew this book existed before seeing her posts!
I have had this a while, but I have just decided to give it a go!
So here it is, Wreck this journal, a very awesome little book indeed. The title pretty much explains what is/what this projects about. I have to wreck this damn journal, and have a fun time doing it too!

Ok where do we start? well you start by opening the cover :PHave a little read of the instructions. Already I have broken a rule, I do not carry this everywhere, I rarely carry a bag these days!
The materials, a few of these make me laugh, like; dirt, weather, detergent, it makes me think, what does this book have in store for me?!

"You may begin to live more reckless" - love it.

The book tells you to add your own page numbers randomly.

This was my first page.
This all I do when I am doodling whilst on the phone, in all honesty its pretty boring! But each of the pages should be more funner and I pinky promise to be more creative and snap every moment to share with you all.

John Frieda 3 day straight: DAY ONE

I thought I'd write this review a little different. Instead of writing one post, I will write three, showing my hair on each day and giving my feedback!
Firstly,What is frizz ease 3- day straight?
3 day straight is a hair styling spray by john frieda, that is meant to keep your locks straight for three days. Just as long as you do not wet your hair.

This spray is aimed at people with curly hair. My hair is on the verge of curly. I have extremely thick wavy hair that needs to be straighten every time i wash it. So I was very eager to try out this product, which, I have been sent by john frieda to review. You can see for yourself how honest the results are.

Day one. I washed my hair as per usual same shampoo + conditioner,and applied around 8-9 sprays evenly through my hair. How many sprays you decide on is up to the individual and how long/thick your hair is.
I then combed through my hair to distribute evenly from roots to my ends. To follow I blow dried my hair straight.
Frizz ease 3-day straight also contains heat protection so there's no need for any other product, you can be sure your locks are safe.
I then parted my hair into 3 sections as I normally do when I straighten.
These were my results.

So far so good!
At one stage I did think my hair was rather sticky, however once straightened your left with non sticky silky smooth straight hair. I am very impressed right now. I shall keep you all up to date. Expect day two of the 3 day challenge shortly!

Jergens Naturals - Sunburn anyone?

A soothing, fresh smelling, light moisturiser.
That's how I sum up this product! I was very unlucky to get a little sunburn on my back over the weekend. Silly silly me! (What lovely weather we have had in England though!)

I applied sunscreen on myself, but couldn't reach the middle of my back, therefore resulting with a red circle, a sore red circle at that!
I was very kindly sent Jergens Natural aloe soothing moisturiser to review a while back.
Being away in London for a month I have been trying out this moisturiser and I can say its going to get a fabulous review from me!

For now back to my horrible sunburn -
I had no after sun care, in my house, and my back was very sore. I remember a couple of years ago picking up a after sun spray by banana boat, which had aloe vera as a main ingredient. It worked wonders.
I decided to use the jergens moisturiser on my back, since this also contains aloe vera, plus it is a very soothing cream.
From the moment my boyfriend applied the jergens moisturiser I felt instant relief. Happy Lauren.
Such a cooling cream - perfect for these hot summer days.
With the moisturiser being so thin- I didn't feel irritated as theres no greasy residue. . I was able to sleep well that night!

Back to the over-all review, I can say I am happy to recommend this to anyone. The smell is delicious, one of the main reasons I would repurchase. The scent is Cucumber. I haven't yet fake tanned and applied this moisturiser but it is on my to do list.
My skin is feeling smooth, smells fresh and looks fantastic. Thumbs up to jergens!

Summer Clothes Haul

Hey everyone.
It seems like forever ago I wrote a haul post! The main reason being my camera died and I had to find a replacement, I was considering a SLR, but then decided to go with a digital again until I get enough money to get a brilliant kick - ass SLR.

As summer is nearly here, I have been slowly building up my wardrobe with pretty dresses skirts and shorts. :) I went to London last month and I had a nice big spend up, I will show you some of things I bought from there plus a couple of online orders.

Topshop high waist hot pants.
Near where I live (in London) is an amazing market which mainly sells clothes, the latest fashion by brands like topshop,Zara,new look, asos, all saints etc
at cheap prices.
I got these topshop shorts for £10. in the shops they would have cost me £35.

I love the detailing on the buttons.

Playsuit brand unknown £10
This playsuit is just so pretty. The colours are so bright and cheerful this came in a orange and pink design too, which I was tempted to get.

Topshop Heart Garland Ruffle Dress - £10
How gorgeous! this dress is very sheer so il have to find something to go underneath, the material is so lovely and lightweight there is a silk underlay too.
This is from topshop the tag has been ripped slightly as the stall owners have to do so, but I saw the dress on the display which had the un touched tag in, its defiantly from topshop and the price tag had £50 on it! £40 off = bargain!

New look dress - £10
This dress was the first purchase of the day, as soon as I arrived at the market It caught my eye and I ran over. I was very tempted to get the other colours too which is a more nude and pink. The price tag read £25 and I got it for £10!
Boohoo sandals
I got these a while back in the sale for around £5 on boohoo.com, I love the studs! I have yet to wear these.
Republic dress £10
I got this pretty dress in the republic sale, I think its last years stock,this is a strapless dress those are just the hanger ribbons :P
I'm waiting for warmer weather to wear this, I am going London again so may take it with me.

Well - Hello!
Bet you didn't expect a post from me? I have been terrible blogger as of late, but I am still here!

My life has been a bit hectic. My lovely daughter has most of my time, shes now 2 years old and is extremely lively, I love playing,painting,baking being a kid again, I get to see kids films at the cinema, go on the swings and slide at the park etc etc!
I took Elise to see Tanged in 3D, her first ever cinema trip, she loved it and was SO good, and she was really amazed the whole way through, she looked extremely cute in her 3D glasses, they looked so big on her :-)

I will be going home to London to visit friends and family the end of march, and I am so excited. I haven't been home in almost a year, my new years resolution was to go home more. I'll be going back in July then for my birthday (September) then Christmas so I defiantly am. :)
I will be taking my little one everywhere, shes at the age where she loves going new places and is basically more knowing.

I have been buying a lot recently, hair care, skin care, lush! etc etc. I was thinking of doing one big haul post.
I'm currently looking for a new camera, I'm after another digital.
Oh I'm also seeing MCFLY on tour again in April! soooooo frecking excited!!!!!!!!

I have a new hammy hamster, unfortunately cupcake never came back from escaping in her ball :( our new chubby hamster is called Tom and he is so tame!

The fashion modeling is on hold for now, I'm focusing more on family life. It is always going to be a great hobby though :)

Valentines cupcakes

I made lovey dovey cupcakes with the boy on valentines day. How special :P he never wants to bake with me, but he wanted to on valentines. He really enjoyed decorating too!!
Mine are mostly pink,(above) the redish ones are the boyfriends. He decided to make a hangman for one of them, and the others are really chocolaty!!
Did everyone have a nice valentines day? I hope you did!
I made the frosting just right. I followed the instructions out of my new hummingbird cupcake book! easy steps and there's so many more id like to try, so watch this space for more baking posts :) I hope you like them!

Valentines photo shoot

Hello!
So two Saturdays ago I had another photo shoot. Two in less then a month, go me!
Since valentines day was approaching i thought of a lovely idea, why not have a valentines photo shoot? So I bought rose petals, a rose, a lovely rose head band (that's actually a brides maid head band) too pretty! :)
and also a lovely red rose dress. Which may I add was a last minute buy, my original one hadn't arrived in the post. So the day before the shoot I went on search for a 'valentines looking' dress. It turns out this was the perfect one and fits the shoot perfectly, it is from river island, on sale from £30 to £1o!
The rose petals on the dress fit in so well with everything else! I also put a few curls in my halo hair extensions this time, instead of poker straight. I did this using a standard straighting iron. It was pretty easy!

I hope you have a Happy Valentines day what ever your doing, I made some valentines cupcakes today and will do the same tomorrow, I wanted to make heart shaped cookies but could I find any cookie cutters? No! :(
Me and the boyfriend will be spending a lovely day together and in the evening getting a take away of my choice.. I'm quite excited :)

The Body Shop Haul

Just before Christmas I made an online order at the body shop, I kind of felt like I was cheating on Lush at the time (I think I have a lush problem, but who doesn't :P)

I was spoilt for choice as there was 20% off off everything! I don't know if you saw my blog post,letting you all know about the little offer, I hope you got some lovely goodies too.This is what I got....

I got a cranberry bath lily, these are inexpensive and last a while so I always pick mine up from the body shop.

A strawberry gift set, including shower gel and body lotion.
My favorite smell is the scent of strawberries!
So I had to get this, I remember my sister always used to buy strawberry scented bath products from the body shop when I was little, I used to love the strawberry soap but forgot to pick one up this time. The shower gel is what I'm currently using, smelling very sweet indeed. Then after my shower I apply the lotion and I smell lovely if i do say so myself ;)

Coconut foaming bath. I also love the smell of coconuts, I bought a 400ml bottle so it will last me quite a while, this bubble bath leaves my bathroom smelling lovely, it has a strong scent.
Grape seed glossing serum. A best seller on the body shop, I read all the great reviews on the site and had to purchase, it smells lovely, but I wouldn't expect anything less from the body shop, and it leaves my ends glossy and healthy, highly recommended!

Coco butter, this smells Delicious, and so moisturizing! I have used most of it up already, I especially use this after exfoliating and before fake tanning. Then the day after I fake tan to make it last and look more natural.
Almond shower gel, I love the smell of almonds, and I have used a fair amount of this also. It lathers up really well and leaves skin baby soft.

Halo Hair Extensions Review

I have had the pleasure to try and review some amazing extensions from Halo hair. I have never worn extensions before, so I was ever so excited when halo offered me some to review. The last time I had long hair was when I was 16, after the chop I've always kept my locks short.
I choose the colour chocolate, if you are unsure of what colour you want you can always contact halo which I found was very helpful.
The extensions I received were 20" full head clip in Remy human hair in chocolate brown #4

The extensions come in this box pictured above.

28mm long clips with silicon tubing.
The clip is easy to operate you just slide down into your hair and click into place.

In the full head box you get:

4 pieces 2" wide with one clip

2 pieces 6" wide with two clips

Finally 2 pieces 8" wide with three clips

I also got two mini shampoo and conditioners with my extensions.
My first impressions when opening and feeling the hair was; my, how soft! This is 100% human hair, that has been treated and its just how I would like my own hair.I'm working towards this ;)
I wanted these extensions especially for a photo shoot. A couple days before the shoot i started to watch videos showing me how to apply the extensions. I took a big risk when trying these on for the first time, as I left it till the morning of the shoot, I was late for my train, make up done, 10 minutes to get my hair sorted! As I said I have never worn extensions so I was pretty nervous that I'd mess it all up. However i found the whole experience of putting these extensions in well and truly easy! I applied the two widest pieces at the bottom, one 6" in the middle and the smaller pieces around the top layers of my hair. I left one piece out as my hair looked full as it is.If my top layers were longer id of probably used them though.
I am very happy with how they looked, so natural. The photographer didn't even notice that my hair was fake! untill I told him. He thought it was my own :) I'm going to share with you a few pictures of me in the extensions from that shoot. For my next one, I'm going to go for a more wavy look and style the extensions.For before photo's to give you a rough idea how long my hair was before applying them skip to this post

I had to do my own make up and hair.
I have always gone for a dramatic look with photos.
This time round I wanted to try something a little more natural..
My inspiration came from my idol Lauren Conrad. I have her new style book (which is fab) and followed the make up steps to create her signature look..which involves bronzer, a peachy blush, nude lips and liquid eye liner.. and this how it came out...

How to become a model

I am about to give you my tips and advice on how to become a model.
My most frequently asked question via email is, "How do I become a model?"

I started Fashion modeling June this year, since then I have become quite 'savvy' on the modeling industry.
I am still a amature, and I am not signed to any agency.
At the moment I am building my portfolio. Having photo shoots, with different themes, and different locations to give abit of diversity.More about that later.
Hopefully this will be helpful for you! Just a reminder I'm no where near a full time professional model, I'm just starting out, so the tips I'm about to share are from what I've learnt so far.

First of all you need to consider a few things.

1. Am I photogenic?
You do not have to be perfect to be a model. You just need to capture well, The camera needs to love you. I never thought about modeling until my family and friends kept telling me how photogenic I was.. then I thought id give it a try, and I am glad I did, as I enjoy it!
Some of my friends are so pretty in real life, but hate themselves in pictures, its just one of those things.

2. What type of modeling do I want to do?
There are many types of modeling out there, to name a few, fashion, beauty,commercial,glamour,body type modeling.
I chose Fashion modeling, as it suites me best, I have more intrest in fashion, plus there are so many types of fashion modeling out there;
Editorial modeling, Run way modeling,Catalog modeling, print modeling, Show room modeling,lingerie modeling, bathing suite modeling,fitness modeling,tea room modeling.
All which fall under fashion modeling.
I personally would never do lingerie. But its good to know I have a great selection to pick from.

3. The photo shoots
Arranging your first photo shoot.
You need to go on the search for a good photographer in your area. I won a competition with Dave spink photography, one of the prizes was a photo shoot. So I didn't have too look about too much. Luckily! :)
Just search the net for a photographer who you think has great work, Sometimes photographers work on a TFCD/TFP basis, which means time for CD or time for print, no money required. The model gives the photographer their time and photos, in exchange for prints for yourself. However if you want to pay for a photographer who provides great images go ahead! There is nothing wrong with that. Just make sure the images there providing you with are worth your money.
I also urge you to do ALOT of research on the photographer before going, making sure there legit, and ALWAYS bring someone with you for safety if it is your first time shooting with the photographer. I always bring my boyfriend or friend.
Things you need for your photo shoot.
Your outfits
Make up
Make up wipes
Hair straighteners
Hair brush
Water and snacks

Bring everything you think you will need! The day before going to your shoot write out a list of what you need then on the day of the shoot check through it all.

4. Poses
You don't want to try too hard. Just relax and go with what the photographer is telling you, if the photographer is telling you, "that looks good hold the pose" work with it, he can see the results after all. For most the first shoot is very nerve wrecking, and you may feel a little silly! But its okay you will get used to it. Its hard trying to achieve the pose you have in your head. Before each shoot practise at home in front of the mirror.
For most photo shoots you do not need to smile, obviously its good to give a smile every now and then. Practise on your model stare its all about the eyes, change your mouth movement every so often..have your mouth slightly open and look down to the floor or look to the side and raise a eyebrow.
Your body may look awkward in some images. Its okay every model has them, you may need to take 10 images to get the 1 perfect one. Practise makes perfect. It also helps when you get on with the photographer, and you can work together.

5. Building your portfolio
The most important part. You need to show everyone what you can achieve.
When at a casting the people auditioning you need to see a bit of everything, Location settings, instead of several studio shoots, pick different locations, Like a park, or a beach or a building that best suites the theme of the shoot..
You need to show off as many looks as you can. Different hair styles, different make up. A whole new look for outfits, You don't want to have just one simple look in every picture, because that's just boring! For one look why not have wavey hair, and a smokey eye make up..leather jacket jeans and heels...then on another image, have a natural look. Pretty dress, little eye make up and a neutral lip gloss.
Building your portfolio will take a lot of time and effort. Some models select one photographer, and try and finish a portfolio in a day. Where as I want to do this gradually.. I want to try different photographers, who have different lights, different camera and different techniques.
In your portfolio you will need around 10-14 images. Choose them wisely!
The images you are looking for are:
1.Head shot
2.Full body image
Then it depends which type of modeling you are doing, for me its fashion so I will need a range of:
3. High fashion photos

You need to pick the best ones from each shoot, and as I said try not to use the same look more then twice. It will be abit boring if you have 4 images, same hair, same make up and same clothes.

6. What happens next
Okay so you have your portfolio, what happens now?
Its all about the Internet! Sign up to places like purestorm.com and modelmayhem.com
There you can upload your portfolio. These sites are a community for make up artists, photo graphers and models. You can apply for castings with other photographers, which help you expand your portfolio even more, but please be careful as some of these photographers who would like to meet up might not be genuine, read reviews from other models and see what they say.

7.Agencies
There are loads of models, and agencies are very hard to get into these days. There's some that seem okay but its all a scam. If A agency ever ask for money, refuse. If a agency is genuine and want you on there books they will not ask you for money. I have been offered to join many agencies this year, all asking for a sign up fee or to pay for a photo shoot to go on there system. If the agency is genuine, they will give you a free photo shoot and still have you on there books. If you still feel as though the agency is genuine and you want to go for it, still be aware, and again search the Internet before handing over any money.

Some other advise and tips..

Do you have to be tall to be a model? No. If you are doing prints or catalog work you do not to be 5"9, Its more for cat walks.

Eat healthy, you need to look your best at a photo shoot. Drink as much water as possible, exercise regularly and have plenty of sleep!

Outfits/looks for a photo shoot. Plan them...look around for inspiration, however do not copy what somebody else have done, be unique!

If you haven't got a make up artist at your shoot, make sure you know what your doing..if not bring a friend to help.

Look after your skin
Cleanse and moisturize daily!

Friday Im in Love..

A little round up of my week-
Firstly..... I am going to see BLINK 182!!!!! at The 02 in London.. we have amazing seats, and I'm so excited, Blink are my favorite band, and when they split I thought Id never get to see them live..! The only thing is I have to wait till July'11, but I'm being optimistic and seeing it as something to look forward too :)
I went from a light brown to a chocolate brown this week, as I am getting hair extensions, My roots were coming through and I wanted to go one colour, and I decided to go dark.. I used l'oreal excell in spiced chocolate, It has come out quite dark, but I need to wash it a few times and see, I am thinking of doing a review on this dye, as when I was searching on the net for reviews & i couldn't find any, and it may help some people who want to go spiced chocolate!!
Snow- Ok where are you? anywhere in the north but here! I am actually watching the news as I type and I am seeing loads of snow in north Yorkshire,knee deep in fact, but what about the west? I am waiting patiently, It is so cold here. we deserve it I recon! Do you have snow where you are?

1) Why the name "Candy Nails"?

The name Candy Nails took around one year for me to be finally happy with a brand name that emits nice thoughts of bright colours and sweet tasting goodies and also incorporate what the brand is all about and that’s nail care.

2) Clearly your site is not just about nail polish, what other products can my readers expect to find on your website?

www.CandyNails.co.uk at the moment is predominantly nail polish at the moment due to the lack of other websites selling a choice of colours to the consumer, for example we are the only shop in the UK stocking the whole range of Jessica Nail Polish. Other products that we are going to expand on in the usually left in the background men’s products, been a man myself I know that I want these high quality products and equipment so my goal is to make men feel at ease buying hand and feet care products on line. We also have a great line of Anti Aging products from Skin Doctors, remember your mom or gran used to say “you can always tell their age buy the condition of their hands” well again there is’nt another website offering anti ageing product for the hands.

Well like everything on www.CandyNails.co.uk it was invented because there was a need for people to view nail polish colours on real skin tones. So we had professional hand models shot in HD video and the use of real colour swatches for the polish. This is something we are very proud of.

6) What led you (or the owner, if that's not you) to create your own brand?

Well me Adam Gore is the creator and owner. I seen a need in the market for a place where people can go to and think wow I feel at home here and a trust that they’re not going to get ripped off or even my worst fear “bored” So I scoured the internet with similar companies and seen a lack of respect for the customer. So there it was www.CandyNails.co.uk was born after 3 years of planning and hard research I truly believe Candy Nails is the one to watch out for.

7) I've noticed that there is a blog on the site. Are you planning on adding more advice/tutorial articles, because I could add that in if you wished?

My Autumn Photo shoot.

Some of you may be aware that I am in the middle of building my portfolio, to hopefully become a fashion model.
I have recently had my second shoot, this time on location!
I met up with a very awesome photographer Tim Lovelady, and we went to a park, for some autumn themed shots. Leaves, mittens, jacket- that's the look I was going for, casual, natural and they have come out fantastic.
Tim edited these photos, and for some reason my hair has turned slightly red, even tho I haven't dyed it red!
I love it anyway :)

A Spring 2011 trend

I know, Its very early to talk about next season as we have only just approached winter, but with fashion you always have to think ahead. The spring 2011 fashion shows in the USA have already taken off, Famous designers such as Marc Jacob have recently reveled thier wear for spring 2011.
After watching various videos of the new york fashion cat walks, It is very clear that White will be a massive trend next season.
White jackets,blazers,shorts,dresses,trousers,handbags...
A few more trends for spring 2011 will be flat platforms, sheer tops and trousers, and bold colours, not forgetting double denim.(A pet hate for many)
I am a lover of white I must say, it looks ever so stunning, and it always indicates that summers around the corner. I always wear my white skinnies summer time, teaming them with either sandals or heels depending on the occasion.

How to care for your hair extensions:

Caring for hair extensions So you’ve made the decision to have hair extensions, you love them, and they give you that extra boost of confidence. But now a little effort is required to make sure those luscious locks remain luscious. Whether you wear clip in extensions or permanent ones, the tips to keep them fresh remain the same. You need to take care of your hair extensions from day one of use. This can start from simply how you brush your hair- it is best to use a soft tipped brush and to gently go through your hair to avoid any tangling. Washing your extensions is another task. Before jumping in the shower slowly add water and gently brush before wash. When choosing a shampoo product, try to choose one low in alkaline as this will help keep the hair strong and reduce any chances of the extensions becoming brittle. When applying the shampoo, unless you want tangled hair, avoid rubbing the hair together- maybe use a wide tooth comb throughout washing! And for extra moisture add conditioner to the ends of the hair extensions. More conditioner than shampoo often keeps the extensions moist and reduces chances of them drying out.

Now this is the tricky part. With wet hair, it obviously needs to become dry which for most of us will mean applying heat. However if you have synthetic hair extensions avoid this! This will damage the hair and make it frizzle. With human hair, you can use hair dryers and straightners but make sure the heat is not too high!

Particularly as the winter months quickly approach us, taking care of hair extensions can become more difficult. Never go outside with wet hair, this will cause the hair to freeze and permanently damage the hair. When windy it is best to tie your hair up to avoid it tangling and also getting in your way as you try to walk down the street! However also remember when tying up hair extensions to not do it too tightly as the hair band could get stuck in the extensions and cause them to tangle. And don’t put too much hair spray in when styling unless you want your lovely new extensions to dry out.

Also remember, hair extensions are a great accessory for the winter. They allow you to thicken up your hair keeping you warmer and with dark tones available they will look fabulous for all the winter fashions.

Urban decay hall of fame review

Urban decay introduces you to there most popular and lovable products, in travel size, that has been packaged in a awesome graffiti box.
I won UD hall of fame a while ago, I was so excited, as I had never owned an Urban decay product.
I have had enough time to use these, and let you know what I think and if id purchase each one fall size.
Let's start of with the contents:

XL eyeshadow primer potion
24/7 glide - on eye pencil in zero
Pocket rocket lip gloss in timothy
Skyscraper multi-benefit mascara
Lipstick in midnight cowboy

Now to what I think..

Eyeshadow Primer Potion
This is the best eyeshadow base I have ever used, and if you haven't heard of it, where have you been?! Every girl needs this in her make up bag.
This primer potion is XL, 60% bigger then regular urban decay potions.
I do not have any creases in my eyeshadow wearing this, and my shadow lasts all day!

Swatchy swatch...

This is wearable by it's self. The only disadvantage I would say is the packaging, it may look cute, but it will be hard trying to get the remains once the product starts to run out.
On that note, I'm giving the primer potion

Skyscraper multi benefit mascara
This mascara is amazing, the applicator gives my eyelashes such great length..
as it is so long, I just take the applicator to my eyelash root pull and curl them back, only having to do this once as I said because its so long, it covers the eye.

This mascara has multi benefits as the name suggests!
It Lengthens,Strengthens,separates,curls,brighten and thickens.
Sounds good right?
However it is not water proof, it DOES last long without fading, which I know is confusing.
You need to apply this carefully as the mascara is so gooey
I have to give most of those claims to be true, it does lengthen, not sure about strengthens just yet.
It separates quite well. Curls- It depends how you curl with the applicator. I would say it brightens and defiantly thickens! So check this out if you haven't already.I would repurchase.

Lipstick in midnight cowboy
I lurrrve the packaging!
Pretty, Shinny purlpleness :)

The colour is beaut! a shimmer nude.
It isn't drying either which is a normal hate for lipsticks for me, as I am a lip gloss kind of girl..
this is ever so moisturizing, and is near enough a gloss.
There is meant to be a midnight cow boy eye shadow too...which I must get, these babies paired up together would be lush.
The lipstick doesn't last long on this lips you may need to apply 2-3 times a day.
But I want to end on a good note- the lipstick really makes your lips look fuller, and you cant go wrong with a nude!

Cute packaging ;) Smells fruity!
I love this because it makes your lips look brighter,

A lovely coral-red colour,with a brush applicator which is ideal for blending with a lipstick of your choice.

24/7 eyeliner in zero
This has to be my favorite eyeliner, I am thinking of buying the normal size.
Its a love hate eyeliner, some really love it (like me) then you have people who hate it, they claim the liner doesn't last long, but for me it was okay!
The name names doesn't lie.

It lasts all day for me. Glides on so smoothly and is jet black, unlike some that aren't so intense.
This is defiantly great for the water line.
Another pro is the fact the lead doesn't snap easily!

A Monday Moment..

I have noticed many bloggers writing A summery of the week- this would be my first and I want to call it a Monday moment, a moment where I talk to you and let you know how I'm doing, what I'm doing, and what is on my mind.

I have been a very busy girl these past couple of months- Being a mommy is taking up a fair bit of my time- and I do love it, of course I do! Whilst little one is playing or sleeping, I like to browse the net for photo shoot inspiration,Modeling is taking up a lot of time, going to shoots, shopping for the outfits, working towards a great portfolio and getting my name out there- it is extremely tiring, but It is also exciting, I have great things ahead of me.

I am also writing for an online fashion blog once a week which is something I love to do, as you know I love fashion.

I have a new laptop! thanks to a fellow blogger on here :)
I am loving the fact it is nearly Christmas, I have my tree up! and I know some may think it is insanely early, I don't care- it makes me happy and excited for Christmas, I have had a cold the past week and it has brightened me up so much.

I have been to see McFly in Manchester, I have had my best friend up to stay, another friend from Manchester to stay and my mums come up for a visit, she has to go home next week boohoooo. I love her being here.

Hopefully I can make it home to London soon... to see my dad other family members & friends, and not forgetting seeing the pretty Christmas lights!!

Keep Calm Have A Cupcake

Hello Hello! How are we all?
I thought I would share with you my cupcakes, that I made a couple of weeks back.
I saw Milly's lovely cupcakes and the how to create- post, and thought I would join in on the cupcake madness! I'm so pleased many of us are baking, its so much more fun then buying cupcake mixes already made up! How many more times am I going to say cupcakes? ;)
It was my first attempt, with no help may I add! Made all from scratch, they came out pretty well.
Not to perfection, but they were absolutely yummy!!
I am planning on making more, if you would have any interest in them let me know and il pop a post up of my next creations. Thanks for looking :)

I have been sent a couple of items from Shop at TW.
for those who have never heard of them, They are an online fashion store that sells unique,cute, Taiwan clothes.
I love anything unique, vintage, or floral..and they fit the mark perfectly.

The packaging.

As both items of clothing are quite thin and light weight, they came in a large envelope, with bubble wrap,
both protected in plastic sleeves.
Along with a business, contact card. Pweety!

My Favorite was this floral skirt..

A mini rara skirt, with a leather buckle which does stretch around the waist.

Look at the pretty floral pattern!

This skirt fits perfectly on me.

On to a dress, with waist coat..
This dress is a size 8, it came up quite tight on me so I would opt for a size bigger then normal.

This is the waist coat that goes with the dress, I must admit i prefer the dress by its self, but it does look pretty with too!

My verdict on shop at tw:
I love this store, it has a wide range of fashionable clothes that meet your desires
reasonable prices, and great customer service!

My asos order came this morning,containing this lovely nail paint by ciate. Blue isn't normally a colour I opt for, but as I was browsing the asos sale, I came across this, and the name made me buy it....
Lauren :) a nail paint inspired by Lauren Conrad herself. I really like it, it makes a change from the normal colours I paint my nails (pink mostly) She did set a trend with this, but what do you think? would you ever wear blue nail polish?

My winter wants for 2010

It's the time of the year where you clear out your wardrobe of maxi dresses and shorts to make way for jumpers and cardigans. Goodbye summer, hello autumn and winter!
I have put together a few items I'm wanting this year. Every year I buy a new coat/jacket, along with a new scarf and gloves.

Knee high socks
This is a new fashion trend, and I must admit I'm loving it.
As seen above pixie is rocking those socks! it gives the outfit a cute girlie edge.
It may be cold, so its better to cover up with a jumper dress that sits just above the knees to keep you snug and warm.

Floral wellies
Snow in the north is quite deep and lasts for a few weeks, so wellies is a major must have.
I like any floral designs.
Republic bat wing jumper
I'm really loving bat wing top's and Jumpers at the moment. This knitted jumper looks perfect for summer and would team up with a pair of military boots that I'm in the middle of purchasing.

Boohoo boots
Every year I purchase a new pair of 'fake uggs' if that's what you like to call them, I do not have the money to splurge out on a real pair, even tho I would love to. These boohoo boots have a fur edge, which I have never bought, but thinking of doing so this year.

Boohoo knitted Cardigan
Any knitted cardigan is a must have winter want for me, I prefer grey to most colours, this boo hoo cardigan is perfect, I love the buttons and collar.

Boohoo military style jacket
I'm on the search for my 2010 winter jacket, I'm thinking of going military, if I do, this is the style I'm after.

Topshop jumper dress
I love love love jumper dresses, especially this one from topshop, Ive been after a 'Love' slogan jumper dress for a while, this paired with knee high socks and military boots makes a great outfit.

Topshop snood
Snood's are more popular then regular scarfs recently, I love them. You just pop them over your head and your good to go! this is my favorite winter want.

New look mittens
I'm loving mittens, they just look so cute, of course I will own a pair of gloves this year but I must get these! Cream or grey? decisions decisions!

New look beanie hat
How pretty is this hat? I'm thinking of getting a cream coat to go with this, its just adorable, I love beanie hats. Yorkshire is incredibly cold, I'm used to London weather which is slightly warmer, as it is a city and not so open. So a hat is essential.

Republic knitted jumper dress
Finally another jumper dress, yes I'm obsessed with them, but they go perfectly with black leggings or even jeggings.
A plain jumper dress like this with a few accessories, ugg style boots, is a great combination.

So there we have just some of my winter wants, I need to go shopping soon, as it is so cold!
